- Leave the M42 at Junction 6 and take the A45 towards the airport. It's the first exit at the roundabout if you're travelling northbound, or the third exit if you're travelling southbound.
- Take the first exit at the next roundabout towards the airport and the Elmdon trading estate.
- Keep left when the road forks and follow it around.
- Take the third exit at the next roundabout.
- Take the first exit at the next roundabout, then the third exit at the roundabout after that.
- The hotel will be on your right.

If you're travelling to the hotel by train, the closest station is Birmingham International, just five minutes from the hotel. Turn right out of the station and keep going to the end of the road, then follow the path and turn right onto Bickenhill Lane. The hotel will be at the end of the road on your right, by the roundabout.

ibis styles Restaurant and Bar – 24 hours a day

The large, open-plan restaurant and bar is open all day and has plenty of colourful quirks, from the polka dot patterned carpet and graffiti-style art to the exposed brick and industrial wallpaper. It's a real mismatch of styles that makes for a fun, modern space for a drink and a bite to eat, whether you're having a sit-down meal, perched at a high table or sinking into comfy sofas.

The main menu's served until 9pm and is super varied, with everything from burgers and pizza to sandwiches, pasta, salads and curries. We went for the wonderfully fragrant Chicken Tikka Masala, which you can order whenever you like – there are plenty of meals available 24 hours a day.

Mains cost £11 to £15 on average, and there's a separate menu for kids – under 12s eat free with a paying adult. You'll also find plenty for vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free diets – let the hotel team know if you have any allergies or dietary requirements.

The bar's pouring draught beers, wine, spirits, soft drinks and Lavazza coffee all day long, so you'll always have a relaxing space to unwind with a drink. There's a TV in the lounge, plus a play area to keep the kids entertained.

You can walk from the hotel to the NEC, and from there you can catch the free monorail to the airport – allow around 15 minutes to get from the hotel to the terminal. The walk is signposted, but if you have lots of luggage or accessibility requirements we recommend taking a taxi to the airport. Taxis take 3 minutes and cost around £10.
