You can check in from 2pm. Overnight parking at the hotel is free, if you need it.

Here are your directions to the hotel:
- Leave the M23 at junction 9, following signs for the airport
- At the first roundabout take the second exit, signposted South terminal, onto the A23 Airport Way.
- At the second roundabout take the fourth exit, signposted North terminal and Redhill.
- After about 150 yards, take the third exit at the roundabout towards Longbridge.
- Take the second right, by the traffic lights, onto Massetts Road.
- The hotel will be immediately on your right, on the corner.

If you're travelling to the hotel by train the hotel is about half a mile from Horley train station. It also has its own 24-hour shuttle bus to and from Gatwick Airport, which runs on demand. Just give the hotel a call and it'll meet you at the pickup point at the bus stop outside the terminal. If you're at the South Terminal it's bus stop 9 and if it's from the North Terminal, it's bus stop 8.

The Gatwick Acorn Lodge prides itself on its Mediterranean menu - and it's easy to see why. Turkish, French and Italian influences combine to create a unique, extensive and delicious-sounding range of freshly-cooked dishes. This is a menu which manages to make the much-maligned kebab sound classy.
How about a plate of mezze to start, with taramasalata, houmous, feta cheese, olives, tzatziki and Mediterranean salad? And then oven-baked sole and prawns with fennel risotto, mushrooms and tomatoes in a saffron lobster sauce? The desserts vary each day - which, for the purposes of keeping your excitement levels down as you read this, is probably just as well.
The menu features a huge selection of steaks, as well as meat, fish and seafood dishes, vegetarian options, pasta dishes and yes, chicken and shish kebabs. A la carte prices start from £4.25 for a starter and range from £8 to £18.95 for a main. There are also two three-course set menus, one for £19.95 and one for £21.95, both with a choice of four starters and four mains.
There's a great value kids' menu too - two courses for just £5.95. The options on offer include spaghetti bolognese, sausage, egg and chips and chicken burgers, plus dessert.
Continental breakfast includes cereal, toast and juice.

A taxi to the airport takes around 5 minutes and costs £15-20 each way.
